Adam Lambert

Oh, Adam Lambert, with a voice that haunts,
Leaves me with nothing else I could want,
But to hear your stunningly melodious voice,
Which sincerlely leaves me with no choice,
But to pull out my phone to text the word "Vote",
Because chances of you not winning are very remote.

How to survive

How to survive a 14 hour period of strait-up school:

First off, you sleep past your alarm (of course you need enough sleep to attack such a huge pile-up of school). A friend is usually neeeded to keep you motivated (AKA get off track and start laughing hysterically at something way off the subject of anything school related and start You-Tubing Susan Boyle).
After said friend visits to keep you on track, you must snap into focus. In other words, you have to leave for Youth Group and catch up on school when you get back. Finally, when Youth Group is over, you get home at about 9:00, and you realize that you've not even started school assignments for two classes and they're due the following morning... a full week's load of school. *Achem* (Insert needed dosages of caffiene here)
So, after Facebook necessities are complete and you double check that your G-talk status reflects your misery, you put your mind to it. Buut, when 1:00am roles around, you've just finished one class... so you go to bed.
The next morning, of course, you sleep past your alarm (not as good of an idea as it was the previous day) and wake up less than an hour before class starts... and the homework assignment is to complete 80 minutes of material. When you realize that you're screwed, you do 40 minutes of school then try to de-stink yourself without taking a shower, and attempt at organizing your hair in a presentable fashion, then you're off to the dismal and dreaded fate of class...

You've guessed it. That was me yesterday and today. Suuuuuuuuuuuck.

Poetry and Life

I randomly felt like writing a poem yesterday, so, even though this poem is totally opposite of my personality, I felt like writing it anyways.
Let me know what you think.

There is a part of me that is history,
If it comes back it will be a mystery
If you could even stand to put up with me,
Come on and take a chance baby, don’t you see?
‘Cause I love you; I can’t live until I’d be
Together with you, cause you set my heart free.

So, there you have it fans.

Lately i've been catching up with school. I am officially going to finish my online Geography class early (tomorrow that is) for the year so I can focus all of my intense attention and devotion on the borish subject of History of Western Civilization. Okay, maybe not too borish, but I don't like taking the tests... or taking notes... and anything else (but I enjoy listening to the lectures).
I am entering a short story of mine into a writing contest. If I win i'll recieve $350 and i'll be published in their magazine (with the rights of the story remaining with me). So, that would be mucho awesomage if I won. Yeah, we'll see about that.
My job at Caribou is going wonderfully, I love it there! I'm getting the hang of it there, so now i'm finding my niche.
I'm going to prom with Josh Gates. (Hahaha) I didn't want to ask a girl out because then she'd think that we'd be "together" and it would take me a lifetime to convince them that I just wanted to go as friends. So, going with a hott guy is much easier. And then i'll have much more fun there attempting to breakdance or do something that I would never do if I had a date. It's going ot be awesome!

Do Hard Things

Lately, I have fallen under a growing mass of homework. I have some excuses being a) I was sick a while back and that threw me off for a week and i've never caught up, b) I had a friend from Texas come to stay at my house, so I couldn't do school for a week... but c) (the real truth) i've been slacking off and being an un-disciplined loser. (although a) and b) are valid, c) trumps them both)

So, to celebrate my slackishness and to change it to Mr. Discipline and Mr. Determination, I have affectionetally named my bandana "Do Hard Things Bandana".
It helps me remember to do school before going on Facebook or blogging, and to be a slave to school until I have caught up. (and it makes me feel awesome and masculine) And this picture is of me yelling "This is sparta!!!" Which pretty much sums up my school day and the rest of the comming week.

"At the end of the road you'll find what you've been longing for"

The song from Underoath depicts our walk of life on a long strech of road. The song is titled "To Whom It May Concern". (my blog name wasn't inspired by it)

In Psalm 119: 32 it says:
"I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free."

As we run on the path that is layed out in front of us, sometimes we aren't content with the paved road that God has put there for our best; we find it "better" to take shortcuts and stray off the path that he has layed. Those are the times when we cut our feet... We bleed... We cry, then we go back on the paved road and wonder why we ever doubted the wisdom of God.

We all have the scars to show that we've tred this path many times before. But, God still loves us despite the scars, and says to us "Run in the path of my commands, for I have set your heart free!"
Now, since He has set our hearts free, we should act like we're truly free and not be contained by the assumptions, hindrances, pressures, expectations, or desires of the world because we are FREE!
Ephesians 5:1-2
"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
